前作『Magic Mutant』の出来が良かったので「今度はどうだろう」と思ってましたが、『Jesus My Teacher』、前作とはいい意味で大違い！『Magic Mutant』がバランスの取れたBestアルバムっぽいのに対し、『Jesus My Teacher』は攻め攻めの攻撃型シングル。ベース・ドラム・ギターそれぞれの音が主張していて、ボーカルものりのり。タイトル曲のJesus My Teacherは、セッションしているかのような、メンバー一人ひとりが際立つアレンジ、カバーといいつつサビの部分以外原型をとどめていないGonna Make You Sweat、Sabanna Funk Generationはやりたい放題といった印象で、3曲ともインパクトありあり。前作の『Magic Mutant』が無難に思えるほど攻め攻めのシングルです。実は、SABANNAMANの曲で好きなのは、Days、Around The Worldなどの緩めの曲や、FUNKAMAN、To Fun To Enjoyなどのファンクっぽい曲で、「3曲全てが攻め攻めのオフェンストラック！」じゃなくて緩めの曲もあったらなぁ～と思ってましたが、実際に3曲通しで聞いてみると「う～ん正解！」と言葉に出ちゃいました。【追記】このレビューを書いている時には、京都大作戦牛若ノ舞台、フジロックRED MARQUEEステージへの出演が叶うバンドとは夢にも思いませんでした。『Magic Mutant』をリリースした頃は、お客さんが十数名のライブハウスで演奏することも珍しくなかったバンドが、わずか１年チョットで京都大作戦・フジロックに出演、夢あるなぁ～と思います。
