Let's start with the negatives:Buying from Amazon. if you purchase directly from Guide Craft, you can save 10% using their coupon. I got it from Amazon thinking I can get it sooner, but nope, drop-ship from GuideCraft. Could've saved $20.The quality of the basket is poopoo; very flimsy, and the cardboard bottom(support) is not stiff at all. one of mine was even bent during shipping. I probably should have looked for a cubbie with more of a standard-sized section, 10x10 (target) or 11x11(Ikea). then I can buy better baskets. However, that may push the height of the shelf beyond 24", which is what I needed.now the positive:The shelf itself is really well made. Good plywood, definitely not your Homedepot grade plywood. I counted 9 layers, pretty much cabinet-grade material. Have to go to a good lumber yard for that. Nice finish with well-round corners/edges. Assembly was fast and easy. Perfect size for us. Nice and wide, and short enough to fit under the window sill.To be honest, if I had purchased directly from the manufacturer and saved another $20, I'd be super happy with this product.Anyway, one last thing. when assembling the top and mid shelves. You will install these metal screws into a plastic insert on the shelf. make sure they are straight or tilt left. the straightness of these screws determines the position of the mating locking round inserts. (shown in my pic). if the screws tilt towards the round inserts, the round inserts will stick out past the shelf. You want to recess them or at the least keep them from sticking out.edit: removed the comment about Guidecraft not charging sale tax to out-of-state buyers.
